Line, Shape, Color Abstracts
Observing the works of contemporary masters Jackson Pollock and Cy Twombly, students learned about the power of art comprised of abstract lines and the difference between organic and inorganic lines. They also learned about geometric shapes versus organic shapes and basic color theory including primary, secondary, complementary, warm and cool color schemes. Using all of this knowledge, students developed an abstract drawing incorporating organic lines, geometric shapes and specific color schemes, which they selected and identified.
